ABEM (Agricode Biotechnology Effective Microorganisms)

EM Group Functions
Bacillus Subtilis
  • Bacillus subtilis is used as a soil inoculant in horticulture and agriculture.
  • Entering into symbiotic relationships with plant root systems.
  • Acting as antagonistic organisms against plant pathogens.
Actinomycet es spp.
  • Actinomycetes are a large group of bacteria that grow as hyphae like fungi. They are responsible for the characteristically 'earthy' smell of freshly turned, healthy soil.
  • Actionomycetes decompose a wide array of hard-to-decompose compounds and are active at high pH levels.
  • Fungi are more important in degrading these compounds at low pH. A number of antibiotics are produced by actinomycetes such as Streptomyces.
Phosphorus Solubilizing Microorganisms
  • Release organic phosphorus and act as catalyst to form inorganic phosphoric for plant absorption.
Photosynthet ic Bacteria Series
  • A family of autotrophic microbe which able to absorb light in the soil for energy, combining the excretion from the roots, organic matters to compose amino acid.
  • The latter contains nucleic acid, nitride and sugar that supplement the crop with nutrients, and also the nutrients to the microorganisms.
Lactobacillus series
  • Inhibit harmful bacteria from reproduction, and decompose the organic matter rapidly. The though lignin and cellulose could also be decomposed under Lactobacillus Series.
Mycorrhizal Fungi
  • Better nutrient and water uptake
  • Better plant growth and yield
  • Less transplant shock
  • Better root growth
  • Better disease resistance
  • Less drought stress
Yeast Group Series
  • Yeasts synthesize antimicrobial proteins and enzymes for the breakdown of sugars and protein to amino acids.
  • The active cell division of yeasts also secretes hormones for the use of Lactic acid bacteria and Actinomycetes.
Trichoderma Group Series
  • Trichoderma readily colonizes plant roots and some strains are rhizosphere competent i.e. able to grow on roots as they develop Trichoderma control almost every pathogenic fungus for which control has been sought.
  • However, most Trichoderma strains are more efficient for control of some pathogens than others, and may be largely ineffective against some fungi.
